[ by now, waking up in an unfamiliar room, on an unfamiliar bed, next to an unfamiliar person is beginning to feel almost expected. far from the novelty it had been during the rank shuffle, though at least during that time he hadn't woken up with such a searing headache.
there are many things about this place he is still struggling to understand, and one of them is the ways in which the house's various effects actually affect him. it seems more a game of chance where his metabolism and superhuman genes kick in; in one case, rin's magical sleeping aid had knocked him our for hours almost instantly. here, the hangover effect doused on them all seems to last for only ten minutes before petering off into something more a nuisance than a pain.
at the very least it provides him with a more advantageous ground than his bedpartner, who fortunately continues to snooze away on her side of the bed. he had tested the door handle not long after he'd awoken, but found it locked from the outside as he'd expected. there's nothing left to do, then, than to find any scrap of clothing in the suite to make himself decent, and prepare what he can for when the young woman eventually stirs.
currently, he sits by the small table holding their "hangover cures," gently cutting the blocks of cheese he'd taken from the basket into bite-sized cubes. the bathrobe he'd found in the adjacent bathroom is fortunately large enough to wrap around him perfectly, even as he sides awkwardly in the small lounging chair to accommodate the small circular table between his legs.
gentle sounds of the softest of snores fill up the space in between his quiet chopping. he finds himself fighting back a smile at the sound of it. ]
[ On the morning of the 14th, not too early, one of the resort staff knocks politely on Mercedes' door. When greeted, they present a bouquet wrapped in simple twine and parchment paper to her — an overflowing mix of starry bellflowers and pink roses, tall purple sprigs of delphinium hemmed by wide green lady's mantles.
No note accompanies them, but the staff member does cheerfully offer: "An expression of gratitude from a fellow guest! Lovely, aren't they?" ]

This one offers thanks for the welcome, and received gift. Some are unusual in flavour, though pleasant. I intend to share them with Wei Ying. If I am able to offer something in return, do not hesitate to contact.

As far as I'm concerned, if you were going to be so sensitive about "red flags," you should've written them in yourself.
